Tommorowland is a film, possibly my favourite film ever.
Apparently it didn’t do too well in making the dollars, which is so ironic, because this only goes to prove it’s point, meaning, message etc. In that humans are too stupid to see what is right in front of their faces. I could go on, but I am going save my venomous tongue and just post these quotes.
If who ever is reading, does not see the message then they deserve everything they get, however, those of us who do see the reasoning, maybe we owe it to the less fortunate to continue our quest to save what’s left and rebuild what was always meant.
Quotes from Tomorrowland…
Every day is the opportunity for a better tomorrow.
Let’s imagine… if you glimpsed the future, you were frightened by what you saw, what would you do with that information? You would go to… the politicians, captains of industry? And how would you convince them? Data? Facts? Good luck! The only facts they won’t challenge are the ones that keep the wheels greased and the dollars rolling in.
But what if… what if there was a way of skipping the middle man and putting the critical news directly into everyone’s head?
The probability of wide-spread annihilation kept going up. The only way to stop it was to show it. To scare people straight. Because, what reasonable human being wouldn’t be galvanized by the potential destruction of everything they’ve ever known or loved? To save civilization, I would show its collapse. But, how do you think this vision was received? How do you think people responded to the prospect of imminent doom? They gobbled it up like a chocolate eclair! They didn’t fear their demise, they re-packaged it.
It could be enjoyed as video-games, as TV shows, books, movies, the entire world wholeheartedly embraced the apocalypse and sprinted towards it with gleeful abandon. Meanwhile, your Earth was crumbling all around you. You’ve got simultaneous epidemics of obesity and starvation. Explain that one!
Bees and butterflies start to disappear, the glaciers melt, algae blooms. All around you the coal mine canaries are dropping dead and you won’t take the hint!
In every moment there’s the possibility of a better future, but you people won’t believe it. And because you won’t believe it you won’t do what is necessary to make it a reality.
So, you dwell on this terrible future. You resign yourselves to it for one reason, because *that* future does not ask anything of you today. So yes, we saw the iceberg and warned the Titanic. But you all just steered for it anyway, full steam ahead. Why? Because you want to sink! You gave up!
Even the tiniest of actions can change the future.
The future isn’t automatically inevitable, you have to participate and you don’t have to just accept how it is.
Back to the author of ‘a view into my universe ‘…
Please don’t just watch films and judge the directors or actors etc. look deeper for the messages, find inspiration to act and do. Feed the light.
There are so many messages out there, not just in films but EVERYWHERE, is it not time to wake up and listen?
Let’s collectively do something and make a difference. Don’t get me wrong, I know there are minorities trying. However, maybe a new/different approach is needed, as quoted above The only facts they won’t challenge are the ones that keep the wheels greased and the dollars rolling in.
So maybe it’s now time to cut out the middle men (very magnanimous description) and do something worthwhile that makes them listen….lets affect those dollars whilst at the same time get our point across.
Let’s begin the movement for a good future. Do I have like minded counterparts? Let’s do it!!! Let’s stop the dollars maybe for just one day…
to prove that individuals and small groups do have the power, to show those egos, people power can shut them down, blast them away if they don’t listen AND act on our concerns.
Caviat: I am not a violent person, my words, and the quotes for me are talking of peaceful protest.
